Rome - day one

 Arrived in Rome, very big city. Found our hotel (first taxi in Italy!) and the room overlooks Navona Plaza, central Rome near the river.

But, for now I must go backwards. Verona. Our stop after dropping Bonnie at the airport in Venice. Actually took a boat taxi from our hotel to the airport. Quite an experience. Bonnie got off with her helper/escort and has made it home safely. 

We arrived in Verona, the city we chose versus Milan or Bologna. We loved Verona. Yes. Crowded on the main streets that housed the gentrified retail outlets, but if the area was avoided, beautiful. The trip changed from a three person team to just Jenny and I. Averaged 6-7 miles a day (both our feet have blisters and band aids, I can only wear flip-flops) and saw so much of this city.
